Back to Ronda! While we’ve been here a few times – read about our other exploits at this link – we love going back because Ronda is simply one of the coolest small towns to visit near Seville.

I promise I won’t write and haven’t written about it every single time we go, but I wanted to write about this one. And it’s our blog. So there! Plus, Ronda is always worth writing about as it never gets old. It’s got the sights, the sites, the charm, and especially, the relaxation we live for.

We had a couple of our good friends from Germany in town earlier this year, so naturally, we took them to Ronda to show them the town in all its glory. And, while they did think it was a bit crowded – it can get that way when the tour buses are around – it’s still an excellent spot to check out.

Nestled among the cliffs and mountains southeast of Seville, Ronda makes for an easy day trip at a drive of less than two hours. Walking around town is easy, albeit a bit hilly if you stray from the main drag, and its historic bridge in the city center always makes for great photos and lots of sparks of the imagination.

We didn’t see everything there is to see on this jaunt to Ronda, but you can check out our other posts for more of that. We just did some walking, looking, and plenty of sitting among the old haunts of the city.

Even though Ronda is small, there are plenty of little side streets to get lost in, and a lot we walked down on this trip that we hadn’t seen before. I suppose, if you were to stay here for several days, you’d cover it all. Alas, we’ve only been here on day trips, so there are always turns we haven’t taken before, or back streets we haven’t explored.

There are churches and shops and bars and views in pretty much every direction you look here, which is obviously a good thing. It’s easy to stay in your head and be relaxed while walking around, but it’s just as easy to be visibly awed while actively participating in your surroundings.

And for us, we always do a little of both. Sit or stroll while enjoying life, or talk and eat and be wowed to be a part of this incredible Earth. Both are just as satisfying, no?
